Heated Rivalry was named Program of the Year at the Television Critics Association’s 42nd Annual TCA Awards. Crave/HBO Max’s romance about two closeted professional hockey players took the top prize after being shut out at the Emmys, the TCA membership announced. Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay won three awards: Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, Outstanding New Program, and Individual Achievement in Comedy for Kate O’Flynn, who was singled out for her role as Patricia Moyer. The TCA also honored In Living Color with the Heritage Award and granted Stephen Colbert a Career Achievement award while The Late Show with Stephen Colbert won Outstanding Achievement in Variety, Talk or Sketch. Other winners included The Pitt for Outstanding Achievement in Drama, Rhea Seehorn for Individual Achievement in Drama for Pluribus, The Traitors for Outstanding Achievement in Reality, Netflix’s Death by Lightning for Movies, Miniseries or Specials, Percy Jackson and the Olympians for Family Programming, and Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical for Children’s Programming. TCA President Andy Dehnart described the winners as a mix of “creepy ghost stories, hot athlete romance, and a global hive mind,” and the association released the full list of winners and videos featuring cast and crew alongside the announcement.
