Arteta and Arsenal are leaving nothing to chance this season!
I really feel for Villa fans. Great club, elite manager, looked like they were going to deservedly break into the top 6, but no, as usual the BS financial monopoly of the so called top 6 puts everyone else in their place. Honestly football is just shite these days.
Well done Villa on knowing your place in Richard Master’s food chain. It is your moral obligation after all to keep feeding sly 6 clubs your best players they don’t need, and their online fan bases their well deserved dopamine hits 🫡
Cartel are asset stripping the clubs that dare to threaten the hegemony
SCR doing exactly what it was brought in to do… knock down any clubs outside of the Big 6 that have any sort of success.
that's eight senior centre-halves, clive - saliba, gabriel, timber, hincapié, calafiori, white, konsa, mosquera. even if a couple of those can play full-back, that's maaad. talk about an abundance of riches.
The Orn Bomb is here, baby. 😈
Good that Arsenal have bought a defender. They were looking sparse in that area.
And this is a UCL season for #AVFC as well, also I think they'd finally finished the spending control period UEFA had imposed And yet, here we are... Shite #nufc
What does it tell us that Arteta is signing Ezri Konsa to cover for Timber at RB when Ben White is already at the club. The only thing worse than not signing a RB would be signing one who ends up on the physio’s table for most the season. #Everton
I initially wasn’t keen on spending big on a defender but we have a precarious position back there atm and Konsa solves it. It’s an overpay but he’s a very good 3rd CB to have. It also doesn’t block Salmon’s pathway and gives Mosquera the competition needed to develop further.
Very happy with that. Great price too for a PL proven quality player.
Good signing and Arteta gets the guy. I think we can manage without a new left winger, but that right side of the defence was a huge concern.
Very interesting from an #FPL point of view, extremely disappointing for Villa imo. He's already in my latest FPL draft, provisionally 3rd bench for GW1. My thinking is he won't start against Cov or in GW2 against Villa but useful to keep around. 🤔 #FPLCommunity ⚽️
Something’s gotta give. Football is fast becoming pointless for 99% of supporters.
Seems crazy amount for the squad we already have
Konsa expected to go to £50m deal as Arsenal make progress Arteta had seen right-sided defender as a priority www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...
You mean to tell me they’re spending £50m on a 29 year old defender because one of their centre backs has an injury. Fuckin cheats, I’m sick of it. Am I doing this right?
me when Mikel Arteta is buying another very good centerback-who-can-play-fullback:
If this goes down, VIlla is pretty much nearly losing the entire spine of their squad. Watkins and Martinez are supposedly up for grabs too. If Emery keeps them in the Champions League for next season, arguably this could be the defining year of his career. So much turmoil and change. Wow
Arsenal reach agreement to sign Ezri Konsa from #AVFC. 28yo said goodbye to team-mates today ahead of scheduled medical tomorrow. Deal worth in region of £51million+add-ons. Story w/ @david-ornstein.bsky.social on @theathleticfc.bsky.social #AFC
#AVFC will be left with the Premier League's minimum quota of eight homegrown players if Ezri Konsa, Ollie Watkins and Emi Martinez all leave. Tammy Abraham and Lamare Bogarde are also homegrown, but there have been doubts over their futures this summer.
*More likely left with nine qualifying players. Goalkeeper James Wright would also count as a homegrown player for the 25-man squad, but Villa would still have little wiggle room when it comes to the stipulations, especially if any more leave.
Makes Quansah and Tomori both more likely to be Konsa replacements. Would be happy with either.
Careful, the Big Six will see this as a challenge. Remember it's not just about increasing their squad, it's about depleting yours.
