Ezri Konsa completes £51m move from Aston Villa to Arsenal

Ezri Konsa has completed a move from Aston Villa to Arsenal for a reported £51 million plus £4 million in add-ons, signing a four-year contract with the option of a further year. The 28-year-old England centre-back underwent a medical and joins having made 286 appearances for Villa since 2019 and 28 senior caps for England. Konsa started every match for England at this summer's World Cup until the 2-1 semi-final defeat to Argentina, when he appeared as a 72nd-minute substitute. Arsenal pursued Konsa amid concerns over William Saliba's back injury and a lingering groin problem for Timber, and Mikel Arteta said the club had “detected some areas that can be strengthened” as they prepare to defend the title. Konsa can also play at right-back, giving Arsenal defensive versatility, while Aston Villa continue to sell or lose key players this summer including Morgan Rogers, Lucas Digne and Youri Tielemans. Arsenal begin their title defence at the Emirates against Coventry City on Friday and Konsa joins a summer recruitment drive that already included Christos Tzolis, Bruno Guimaraes and Illan Meslier.

#AVFC will be left with the Premier League's minimum quota of eight homegrown players if Ezri Konsa, Ollie Watkins and Emi Martinez all leave. Tammy Abraham and Lamare Bogarde are also homegrown, but there have been doubts over their futures this summer.

I think Konsa comes in GW3 I reckon some gentleman's agreement with Villa that he doesn't play against them straight away, also not play any pre season will take a couple of weeks to get up to speed, happy to hopefully take points in the first 2 games then transfer him I think
