Willson Contreras hit a three-run home run off Logan Webb to give the Boston Red Sox the lead, a 450-foot shot with a 116.0 mph exit velocity and a 30° launch angle. The blast came in the third inning and put Boston ahead 3-1; it was Contreras' 26th homer of the season. The homer followed a five-run frame for Boston, and Webb exited after 2 2/3 innings, his shortest start of the year according to Alex Pavlovic. Contreras celebrated with an emphatic bat flip noted by eyewitness posts and broadcast trackers.

Willson Contreras had a bat flip unlike any I’ve ever seen following a three-run homer - a forehand flick of his bat that looked almost like a magician issuing a “poof.” Appropriate, since the baseball disappeared.
