Mercedes' George Russell led from start to finish to win the sprint race at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. Russell kept a train of four cars at bay and pulled away in the closing laps after Charles Leclerc passed Lando Norris with six laps to go to take second; Norris held third while fending off a late attack from Mercedes' Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Leclerc had started the sprint on soft tyres while the other front-runners used mediums; Norris reported a loss of rear grip after eight laps that cost him pace. Oscar Piastri finished just 0.3 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen, with Lewis Hamilton close behind Verstappen in seventh. Russell's win cut his championship deficit to Antonelli to 56 points; Hamilton remains second in the standings, three points ahead of Russell. Rain arrived at the circuit after the chequered flag and would have made the finish more eventful had it come two laps earlier.
