Lionel Richie hospitalized after St. Louis concert, enters ICU

Lionel Richie, 77, checked himself into a St. Louis hospital in the intensive care unit after his Saturday night performance at The Muny in Forest Park, TMZ reports. Sources told TMZ Richie sought tests and doctors were evaluating possible slight dehydration, with an expectation he could be discharged Tuesday. Witnesses at the concert said Richie appeared to struggle near the end of the set and asked his team for a chair while performing the final song, "All Night Long." The TMZ report notes this is Richie's second hospitalization this summer; in June he was rushed to a hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota after feeling dizzy and cutting that show short. Richie and his representatives have not commented publicly, and TMZ says it has reached out to his reps for more information. The immediate next development to watch is whether Richie is released as hoped on Tuesday and whether his upcoming tour dates are affected.

People don't tend to get admitted to the ICU for dehydration; it would have be very severe dehydration. Usually they run an IV & rehydrate you in the ED. Hope he's not really sick & it is just dehydration. 🙏
