LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian debuts on Disney+

tvSep 2, 202617184

LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian debuted on Disney+, arriving as a 45-minute LEGO retelling that critics call both extremely funny and extremely poignant. Reviewers describe the special as a witty parody and affectionate reconstruction, rebuilding three seasons of The Mandalorian into broad LEGO comedy. The moment has sparked a concrete fan response, with people celebrating Mandalorian and Grogu moments and even posting about building the Razorcrest. Some coverage and posts note the absence of Pedro Pascal while behind-the-scenes material, including an official podcast episode, landed alongside the special.

You have so much Star Wars Lego, yet your photos are of a spotless house. My house looks like several Lego bombs have gone off! 😅 Where do you keep them all?!

Oh nice, that’s the newer one, isn’t it? I bought the original one (75292) when it first came out, and I haven’t yet found my rainy day to put it together. Looking forward to seeing your finished project!

Not to blow my own trumpet, but I’ve just listened back to the edit of the climactic 2-part Star Wars episode of this series - out next week - and it’s something I’m so proud of. Hard to find something new to say, and I think this is good stuff. Big theories on why Star Wars and story works…

And I think it works even better after we’ve been on a journey through 50 years of cracking sci fi cinema leading up to it. That helps Star Wars make sense as a film, not as some sort of cultural monolith (with all monkeys worshipping it).

If you blow your own trumpet you will get less germs than if you blow someone elses’.

LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is a goofy and fun tribute to the live-action series, but it’s hard not to wish that this animated special told a completely original story. Our review: https://bit.ly/4wY4KZD

Zero Company Week continues on the Observation Deck, with my thoughts on the game's *excellent* use of Anakin Skywalker, both on a mechanical and narrative level
