Teoscar Hernández ripped a 3-2 pitch into the left-center field gap for a two-run walk-off double in the ninth inning, giving the Los Angeles Dodgers a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals and avoiding a series sweep. The hit ended a 24-consecutive at-bat drought with runners in scoring position for the Dodgers, who had gone 0-for-8 with RISP in the game and stranded 10 runners after leaving 13 the night before. Tommy Edman opened the ninth with a one-out single and Mookie Betts worked a walk to put the winning run on base before Hernández delivered. Tarik Skubal lasted 5.2 innings, allowed 10 hits (tied for his season high), yielded two runs, struck out six and walked one. Los Angeles was without Shohei Ohtani for the finale because of ongoing injury issues. Despite the walk-off victory, the Dodgers lost the season series to St. Louis for the second straight year, finishing 2-4 against the Cardinals.
