The Toronto Blue Jays placed right-hander Jameson Taillon on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right elbow inflammation after he was pulled following two innings against the Kansas City Royals and sent for an MRI. Manager John Schneider said the team is seeking a second opinion on the imaging and has not ruled Taillon out for the season. Taillon allowed one run on two hits in those two innings; he was making his first appearance since Aug. 10 after being on the IL with right forearm tendinitis. The 34-year-old is 2-6 this season with a 5.65 ERA in 18 starts and has pitched in three games for 10 innings since being acquired from the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 2. Toronto entered Saturday one game behind Cleveland for the American League's final wild-card spot.
