After trading field goals to tie the game at 27 in the fourth quarter, Dakorien Moore caught a 62-yard touchdown to put the Ducks ahead with 7:51 remaining. Oregon totaled 497 yards to Boise State's 274 but was penalized 10 times for 90 yards. Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns in the upset bid; the Broncos entered the game as 24.5 point underdogs. The Broncos recovered a muffed punt and converted special teams plays and fourth down chances that kept the game close.
