I thought the story in Resident Evil Requiem was great because they understood the assignment. Cheesy one-liners! Ridiculous reversals! The new heroine saying exactly what we would all be thinking when running into an unspeakable horror! Leon launching a motorcycle off of a skyscraper!
William B Hill3YES. Resident Evil is goofy as hell, and that is completely fine! I get the tendency to treat the art as if it is special, as if it is worthy of the pedestal you may place it on, but both things can be true. It is completely okay to love some corny nonsense.
