At least 80% of the problem is Zuckerberg's creepy harassment empire, not the technology itself The remaining 20% is, imo, solvable with better technology and better privacy laws (e.g. extend 2-party-consent w/ carve-outs for legit accessibility devices)

If Zuck could secretly add facial recognition tech to glasses, couldn't any of these wearable cameras? 🚩When people purchase & use #SurveillanceTech, it robs the rest of us of our #privacy. Do we need wearable #DetectorTech that scans for #SurvellanceTech? 🤔Avoiding the wearers may be easier.🤷🏼‍♀️

Open alibaba/amazon or any online store. Type “smart glasses” in search. Theres literally 1000’s of manufacturers of these products. Meta is merely 1 out of thousands. They start at £40 for 4k recording. But they dont generate click bait outrage stories for sheep like fake meta stories.

This article illustrates why I have mixed feelings about smart glasses. Yes, they can be used to violate privacy. But they can also make it easier to document ICE and other police infractions against citizens.

Nobody should be recording inside a detention center without the proper permits. My main concern would be the privacy of both officers and offenders. Police only seem to care about their own privacy and security. But that's not the oath they took, is it?
