First Teaser for Alex Gibney's Elon Musk Documentary Debuts

Oscar-winning documentarian Alex Gibney unveiled the first teaser for Musk, a four-year investigative portrait of Elon Musk that runs nearly four hours. The film traces Musk's rise and controversial legacy, following his roles as CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter and offering an "unvarnished examination" of his power. The teaser and coverage frame Musk as potentially dangerous, headlined by the line "Insane a person this chaotic has so much power." Gibney is on record calling Musk's "genius" a talent for "stock pumping." The documentary includes on-camera contributors who say they rejected nondisclosure offers, including Ashley St. Clair, who declined a $40 million NDA to speak publicly for the film.

I'm really looking forward to this. One thing that makes Gibney uniquely perfect to direct this is that in GOING CLEAR he's already navigated making a critical documentary about the only entity on earth that's even more aggressively litigious than Musk

At this point I don't think Scientology is more aggressively litigious than Musk. Scientology has never, for example, sued for the right to make and distribute child pornography while also going after its critics. It just goes after its critics.

I watched "Going Clear" when it first came out with my neighbors. We smoked a little weed (do not recommend) and when it was all over, I literally felt as tripped out by how INSANE the story was, that it was like when I used to do LSD occasionally back in college. It fried my brain.

definitely curious about the doc. it could be great, but the article also makes it sound like it will be filled with very lib-brained takes and give credibility to people who don’t deserve it, like using a crank like geoffrey hinton to suggest musk might use AI to manipulate US elections.

The documentary is 4 hours. Gibney was thought to be done but seeings how musk has emerged into politics, he went on to dig deeper. He was to finish it in like 2022 originally. Ketamine boy has already went at it with Gibney over at that bad place.
