Toho and director Takashi Yamazaki released a full IMAX trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero that teases the return of the three-headed King Ghidorah with a distinctive roar. Yamazaki’s sequel is set two years after his 2023 film Godzilla Minus One, which won an Oscar for best visual effects. The official synopsis says postwar Japan has been clawing back to daily life when a new threat crushes hope and declares Everything ends here. Most of the main cast from Minus One return, including Ryunosuke Kamiki as Kōichi, Minami Hamabe as Noriko, Sae Nagatani as Akiko, and Hidetaka Yoshioka as Kenji Noda. Godzilla Minus Zero opens in Japan on November 3 and in North America on November 6, with its official world premiere scheduled at the New York Film Festival later this month. Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse sequel Godzilla x Kong Supernova is meanwhile slated for 2027.
