TSA restores gate access for some PreCheck travelers

Air travelers: it’s been so long since 9/11, can you please stop making us take off our shoes and use 3-ounce shampoo bottles? TSA: now your family can sit with you while your flight gets delayed!

I don't like this. Having only ticketed passengers near the gates is one of the few airport changes that I did like. This will just make lines longer. If airports want to make money with their restaurants and shops, put more of them in places before security.

TSA Pre is now offering going through the TSA checkpoint without a flight. You have to register online for free 1-3 days before the planned entry. Now you can meet or hang out with friends at the gate, or if you really have a craving for something from Hudson News. www.tsa.gov/precheck/gat...

Nice! They're going back to letting you through airport security without a ticket, so you can see people to the gate— —if you pay for TSA PreCheck, that is. Rights cost money around here.

Currently, a gate-pass only takes an ID and a reason. I did it regularly with both my kid and my mom. Keeping access limited to those who need it is better for everyone except people who like unnecessarily extending airport lines.

foregoing tsa precheck not because i’m cheap and lazy but out of a socialist desire for equality with my fellow people 🫡
