This is purely speculation, but Kojima words his post that he "unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the PHYSINT project", not something like "there were creative differences" or he felt like Xbox would be a better publisher. Sony is just THAT fucking stupid.

I think it's insane that PlayStation would cancel an action-espionage game by Hideo Kojima, THE creator of METAL GEAR.

lots of people bangin my line about this today so just to give my quick two cents: i suspect there's a lot more to this situation that we don't know about and i kinda have no opinion on it or scorn for sony, mostly just glad physint hasn't been outright cancelled.
