Exit polls project centre-left win in Sweden election

Public broadcasters SVT and TV4 projected at 21:45 local time, using results from 10% of districts, that the centre-left opposition bloc leads with 51.3% against 46.8% for the right. The projection lists party shares as Social Democrats 27.6%, Moderates 20.0%, Sweden Democrats 17.5%, Left Party 8.2%, Centre Party 7.1%, Christian Democrats 6.3%, Green Party 6.2% and Liberals 5.5%. SVT’s model shows the two blocs effectively tied in seats, with the opposition ahead by a single seat in the new 349-seat Riksdag. If confirmed, the projection would give the opposition 175 seats and the incumbent government 174. The broadcasters described the outcome as a worse-than-expected night for the far-right Sweden Democrats. The one-seat margin means final counts and district returns will determine who can actually form a government in the coming days.

As the count progresses, the predicted difference between the blocks is shrinking, now too close to call. BUT Sverigedmokraterna have definitely lost a lot of support, about 3 percentage points from last time, so even if there isn't a change of government they will have less leverage going forward.

More than 60% of the votes are in, in the election in Sweden. Way to early to say who will/can form a government. No clear majority. However, the good news is that the far-right seems to have lost support across whole of Sweden!
