Shape of Dreams is available today on Xbox Series X and Series S and is day one on Xbox Game Pass, arriving alongside its largest update yet, The Starless Path. Developer Lizard Smoothie says more than 1.5 million players have played Shape of Dreams since its Steam launch in September 2025, and the Xbox build includes a year’s worth of improvements. The co-op action roguelite features nine playable Travelers who fight differently, examples include Lacerta with firearms, Shell with a blade, and Nachia commanding summoned companions, and offers over 200 Memories and Essences to combine for varied runs. Up to four Travelers can play together online, with cross-play supported from day one; multiplayer increases enemy speed and damage so group runs reshape the Rapids. The Starless Path adds a new Traveler, Cetus, who uses frost for burst damage and battlefield control, a new progression path called the Way of Stars that unlocks illustrations, emotes, hidden stories, and a new ending, plus six shared Identity Memories that can alter core playstyles. The update also tightens boss patterns at higher difficulties and introduces Limbo, an endgame difficulty beyond Nightmare for players seeking a tougher challenge.
