An internal FBI memo circulated from the Chicago field office in February warned that, as of late January 2026, a small group of women were allegedly creating fictitious online dating profiles using a "tradwife" aesthetic to attract US immigration agents and then publicly expose and dox them. The memo, obtained by Property of the People and reviewed by the Guardian, said the profiles listed specific interests to appeal to law enforcement and that the tactic aimed to generate public embarrassment and deter immigration enforcement. The report provided few operational details, did not name dating sites or locations, did not say whether any agents had actually been doxxed, and described the information as "not finally evaluated intelligence." The FBI declined detailed comment but said it regularly shares information with law enforcement partners to protect officers and communities; the Department of Homeland Security did not respond to requests for comment. The memo was issued weeks after a New York Post story that cited a screenshot from a rightwing account claiming an organized effort, and the FBI document was circulated to raise awareness among law enforcement about this alleged doxing technique. The disclosure is part of a batch of internal records obtained via public records requests that reveal law enforcement concerns about activist tactics targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
