José Ramírez hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning off Seth Johnson to drive in his 1,000th career RBI as the Cleveland Guardians beat the Oakland Athletics 5-3 at Progressive Field. The homer measured 401 feet with a 102.4 mph exit velocity and a 29 degree launch angle and was Ramírez's 12th of the season. Cleveland erased an early three-run deficit in the game; the shot came with two outs in the sixth and gave the Guardians the lead. Ramírez, 34, now joins the 1,000-RBI club as just the second player in franchise history and is listed among the 12 active MLB players to reach the milestone.
