Red Bull has confirmed 21-year-old Isack Hadjar will remain Max Verstappen's team-mate for the 2027 Formula 1 season. Hadjar was promoted to Red Bull this year after a rookie campaign with Racing Bulls and achieved a season-best third place at the Monaco Grand Prix. Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies called the extension "an easy decision," praising Hadjar's performances on and off track in only his second F1 season. Hadjar missed three races with a broken wrist sustained while boxing but returns to the team for this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Over the first half of the season Hadjar was 0.239 seconds slower than Verstappen on average in qualifying and out-qualified Verstappen three times, in Australia, Japan and Britain, with Verstappen affected by a crash in Australia and down-on-power in Silverstone. Verstappen's contract now runs to the end of 2030 after a two-year extension signed in August.
