Dolly Parton estate granted temporary restraining order against nephew

A Tennessee judge granted a temporary restraining order protecting Dolly Parton’s estate from her nephew Bryan Seaver after the estate alleged Seaver made threats, attempted extortion and used intimidation, including messages that the filings quote as violent. The estate’s manager filed the petition on behalf of She’s Alive LLC, the corporation set up to run Parton’s businesses and legacy, and asked the court to keep Seaver away from estate offices and employees. Court papers say Seaver formerly provided Parton’s security detail and was the person who publicly announced her death. The filings seek a 1,000 foot exclusion from the estate’s offices and allege Seaver used his past access to pressure estate personnel. Freida Parton publicly denied there was a family feud after the restraining order became public. The temporary order stops short of a final ruling and leaves open further civil or criminal action depending on what prosecutors or the estate pursue next.

Her music and her philanthropic endeavors continue. I suspect as one who came from poverty she would have educated herself on how to make it her money work for her. How wonderful that her early years taught her compassion and a desire to share with others. Her memory is a blessing and a lesson.

Unfortunately when there is a death and especially when there is enormous wealth, blood relatives, loved ones and what were trusted relationships can bring about the most vicious behavior because of what others believe they have ownership to.
