On September 24, 2026 the Houston Astros beat the Oakland A's 7-5 as Lucas Spence homered three times in the game. Spence’s first big-league homer put Houston up 3-0, and his ninth-inning solo shot off Elvis Alvarado came in the top of the ninth while the Astros led 7-5. Multiple posts say those three homers were the first three of Spence’s MLB career, all hit in the same game. The MLB boxscore lists Bryan Abreu as the pitcher who secured the save for Houston. Spence becomes the third player in MLB history to hit each of his first three career homers in one game, joining Seby Zavala and Joshua Báez.
