Oregon quarterback Dante Moore was knocked unconscious by a second-quarter hit from USC linebacker Desman Stephens II and stretchered off the field before being taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. USC was flagged for targeting on the play and Stephens was ejected; Oregon coach Dan Lanning called the hit "disgusting" and several Ducks players said it felt intentional. Moore spent several minutes on the turf, later was reported by Lanning to have movement in his extremities, and the team declined to speculate on the injury’s severity. A scuffle erupted on the field immediately afterward, and a separate fight broke out in the stands between a USC fan wearing No. 8 and an Oregon fan. Backup quarterback Dylan Raiola replaced Moore and led Oregon to a 41-27 victory over USC, with the Ducks piling up 504 yards on offense. Lincoln Riley met with Lanning after the game to check on Moore, and critics targeted Stephens for his postplay behavior and celebration.

Behind Dylan Raiola, Oregon puts up 41 points and 504 yards. That was more yards than USC gave up in any game last season. Ducks O-line also stepped up. After giving up 4 sacks to OkState, they allowed USC no sacks.

Definitely felt like it. I think there’s plenty of room for a discussion about how hard it can be for defenders to pull up in certain QB slide situations, but the way he went about it was not great, and honestly pretty poorly timed

Simms started by calling it a “Debbie downer moment” and, yeah, he blamed Moore. I was stunned. LPT for Simms, when your network won’t show a replay of the play maybe it’s a little worse than “Debbie downer”

So after seeing the USC players rejoicing over the extremely cheap and dirty hit on Dante Moore - which sent him to the hospital - I believe the two most justly hated NCAA FB1 teams are 1) LSU (cause Lane Kiffin) and 2) USC (cause they are complete aholes)
