Week 4 power rankings reset the AFC pecking order after three games played in September. The Buffalo Bills currently carry most of the weight in the AFC East while the New York Jets draw intrigue; the New England Patriots are an early disappointment with quarterback Drake Maye and the offense struggling. The AFC South has two winless teams but the Jacksonville Jaguars look elite and the Indianapolis Colts have flashed improvement despite a 1-2 record; the Houston Texans sit 0-3 and face long odds, only seven 0-3 teams have ever reached the playoffs. The AFC North is the only division with four teams holding winning records; the Pittsburgh Steelers burst offensively in Week 3 to hand the Cincinnati Bengals their first loss, after Cincinnati’s defense impressed early but then faced a vintage Aaron Rodgers performance. The AFC West combines for eight wins so far; the Kansas City Chiefs have returned to form in part thanks to running back Kenneth Walker, who is averaging 5.5 yards per carry, 120 rushing yards per game, and four total touchdowns. Few expected the Las Vegas Raiders to remain one of the league’s last unbeaten teams, but they are 3-0 after three wins, including back-to-back road victories and a comeback in New Orleans.
