Taylor Swift surprised Dakota Johnson during Johnson’s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live on October 3, appearing on camera after Johnson introduced her as “my literal therapist.” Swift replied, “I’m not your therapist,” and the two exchanged a bit where Swift described Johnson showing up with an empty wine bottle and Johnson noting Swift’s typical response, “Damn, that’s crazy.” The cameo linked to Johnson’s cameo in Swift’s new “Patient Zero” video; that single premiered at the MTV VMAs the same night Swift won video of the year and is one of four new tracks on The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. Johnson was hosting SNL for the third time one day after her film Verity opened in US theaters; Verity earned $4.5 million in Thursday previews and is expected to lead the weekend box office. The episode also featured a politically themed cold open and continues SNL’s Season 52 lineup, which includes Shane Gillis hosting October 10 with musical guest Rosalia.

One more thought: #SNL's version of Trump needs to be updated. JAJ still plays Trump as the sleazy used-car salesman from 2015. Today's Trump should be slower, foggier, sleepier. (And JAJ has never gotten the makeup right around the eyes.) And where's the hand bruise, the padded pants, etc?
