Texas AG Paxton opens investigations into pediatricians who vaccinate children

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has opened a statewide investigation into pediatricians who administer childhood vaccines, alleging a sprawling profit-driven conspiracy among doctors, drug companies and insurers. In December Paxton’s Consumer Protection Division sent a central Texas pediatrician identified only as Rachel a letter demanding her vaccine purchase records from the past 10 years and her practice’s vaccine policy. The letter said citing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention childhood vaccine schedule would not suffice and indicated the division was probing “potential misleading or deceptive acts regarding incentives associated with the administration of childhood vaccines.” Rachel, who has treated children in the community for 20 years, said the demands and the cost and stress of defending herself have made her reconsider continuing her practice. The investigation targets individual pediatric practices across the state and is framed by Paxton as enforcement under Texas’s deceptive trade practices law.
