Obama compares Trump White House decor to a 'Cheesecake Factory'; Trump lashes out
"Guys like Obama don't see it. They don't see dirt, they don't see filth. He doesn't see broken ornaments...The White House, President Obama is a symbol of America. It has to be clean." Feels like the focus on hygiene and cleanliness might be standing in for something here!
It’s striking that journalists ask him this and not about rape
He wants to say the n-word so bad
People with taste see fake gold, pastiche, gaudy, crap for what it is, fake gold, pastiche, gaudy crap. Trump is a classless rube.
Lolololol. The orange meatloaf is pissed off... hahahaha
@donmoyn.bsky.social I dunno, I remember seeing a documentary years ago about the Nazis' pre-war obsession with hygiene as it pertained to their beliefs in racial hygiene, and ... well, it seemed like it was a big hint.
Meanwhile he appointed an HHS director that likes to eat roadkill and go for swims in raw sewage.
This is even stupider than the usual FNC fauxburger. I like the Cheesecake Factory. I eat there regularly with friends. And yes, the décor is tacky. I don't go there for the décor, but for the food—which I like. President Obama made a statement solely about the décor. One few would disagree with.
But the most important thing everyone needs to remember is this: take the person in America you think has more contempt for the working class and middle class than absolutely anyone, then quadruple that amount of contempt, and you'll be *entering the suburbs* of how Fox News feels about such people.
I don't even think his statement is remotely anti-Cheesecake factory. Whether a chain restaurant should be decorated that way is not the question Obama raised. He was pointing out that the White House should not be decorated like a chain restaurant.
I had not realized that the prosperity of the American workingman depended upon his willingness to defend the upholstery of a restaurant. We live in an age of remarkable discoveries.
Obama said Trump, "has the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory." That's funny. It's not a joke about CF's decor, it's a riff on Trump's autocratic chic, a category architects are familiar with. Saying it's an attack on popular tastes is just disingenuous bleating.
It's okay if the Cheesecake Factory is tacky, it's still fun. The people's house, the White House, should be a presentation of dignity and seriousness. But yeah, it looks tacky.
Yep, they're all going on about selection & affordability at Cheesecake Factory, which has absolutely nothing to do with what Obama said. I just wanted to enjoy my retirement. Worked my ass off, saved & invested enough to retire 5 years early and every day is all this constant bullshit. It sucks!
Lol congrats to all the chuds who spent the past 24 hours clutching their pearls pretending that Obama insulted Cheesecake Factory just so Trump could actually insult it.
Obama: the Cheesecake Factory is alright, but isn’t it a little tacky to model the White House after it? Trump: how dare he say that, the Cheesecake Factory is a garbage place for garbage people Anti-anti-Trumpers: how dare Obama insult such a pillar of mainstream American culture??
Constitutional law scholar Harvard vs. Russian real estate grifter. Sure pops.
Yeah, I mean wtf was that about. Quintessential bluesky. Cheesecake factory looking gauche appropriate. White House Looking (frankly more chintzy) like cheesecake factory, inappropriate
Obama didn't make fun of the Cheesecake Factory. He made fun of Trump's tacky White House. I still say 1890s Paris whorehouse is the closer comp.
I have seen enough French " maison closes " in movies to register à polite dissent here They are way classier then Trump s Graceland
I have never seen a more insecure and childish president in my lifetime or in history books.
1990's Epstein Island also a bit closer!
A Paris whorehouse wouldn't have been that tacky.
Absolute slander against the Parisian whorehouses, they were far better in dignity and sanitatiom
Both the Cheesecake Factory and Saddam Hussein's palaces were much, much too classy for Trump.
