Patriots trade up to draft Caleb Lomu, No. 28

No. 28: Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah Oh now I’m very intrigued. Lomu definitely needs to put on some more weight but he’s super athletic with nice technique in pass protection. Guessing he sits for a year and takes over for Moses?

The #Patriots draft Utah LT Caleb Lomu at 28th overall. He did not allow a sack last year. He's a better pass-protector than run-blocker with excellent length and elite athleticism. Needs to get stronger and figures to change positions in New England.

Caleb Lomu was mocked to the Patriots a lot. Makes a lot of sense, Morgan Moses can enjoy his retirement starting in 2027.

Caleb Lomu is a developmental prospect but has the traits to be a high-end starter. With Will Campbell and Morgan Moses ahead of him, he probably sits in 2026 while trying to get stronger before taking over in 2027. Now Campbell has a year to prove he can stick at LT, or Lomu takes over.
