WWE released Motor City Machine Guns, meaning Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, along with Aleister Black, Kairi Sane and Santos Escobar in a notable round of roster cuts. Kairi Sane is a former NXT Women's Champion, Aleister Black had returned to WWE earlier this year, Santos Escobar led Legado del Fantasma, and Motor City Machine Guns are veteran tag stars.
