Marvel announces Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren miniseries

Marvel announced a five-issue Star Wars miniseries titled Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren, written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Will Sliney, arriving in August. Soule and Sliney, who first chronicled how Ben Solo fell to the dark side in 2019, will chart Kylo Ren's rise to Supreme Leader and the internal chaos inside the First Order. The creative team confirms Tava Ren appears, tying the story into the Ren family and Kylo's personal relationships. The series reunites the creators who shaped Kylo's origin and could close unresolved threads in his arc while expanding First Order lore for readers and future Star Wars projects.

Ohlen spent half a year on a plan before getting the greenlight from former Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, as well as Star Wars creative boss Dave Filoni.

"He was like, 'If you set it a couple hundred years before the fall of the Republic, we can have a tie in," Ohlen recalled of Filoni's eventual agreement. (It's a time period that sounds not dissimilar to Lucasfilm's The High Republic, which the company has since mined for its storytelling potential.)
