Walt Disney releases 'Hexed' teaser trailer
First trailer for Disney’s ‘Hexed’ has been released. In theaters November 25th.
So this movie about a girl that has the ability to cast and a fascination for magic and enters a world of witches? Sounds kinda familiar.
Everyone in the comments saying this is an Owl House ripoff needs to realize that Owl House didn’t invent much of its elements either. Stories about magic powers, magic worlds, and parental conflict have existed long before our time.
"gimme owl house, but hold the gays!"
Please stop trying to say that Hexed is supposedly ripping off The Owl House, as those kinds of tropes in storytelling have always existed for a pretty long time, so it's not anything that new. I'm not even sure if the filmmakers are fans of The Owl House or watched the show.
I'm so tired of all the faces looking the same. It leads to even the animation looking exactly the same, same facial expressions, timing, everything. Plus the lighting, rendering, just the painful SAMENESS of it all. Gimme Sony movies any day. Way more visually interesting and varied!
Some of y'all in the comments and quotes need to step outside cuz I see too much complaining that makes no sense :v
If Owl House were a movie
disney: people like that house owl show but we need it gayless for the conservatives politians that give us tax breaks on our parks
It's a good song, but quite a choice to use one that is kinda about having sex with a minor. Also, pay Dana Terrace you disney fucks.
Well I’m gonna love this movie and apparently I need to watch a show called Owl House?!
Oh, look, it's the same movie they've released 10 times in the last 10 years. It's got a slightly different plot point, but it's basically the same film they've put out many times already.
This is how certain types of folks sound when they ask for something completely original instead of a live-action remake/sequel, only to then complain once they are given that originality. youtu.be/DYO72MHbsgE?...
Here's the first trailer for Hexed, our new film coming out in November! We're working super hard on this one right now. As usual, 100% rendered using Disney's Hyperion renderer! Also, since it's worth clarifying these days, completely made by humans, btw. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtC4...
One of my favorite things to do during production is to step through new shots coming out of the animation dept frame-by-frame, just to see what kind of goofy stuff the animators have done. This shot in particular has a lot of great blink-and-you'll-miss-it squash and stretch:
Just wanna say: I deeply respect everything you all at Disney are doing. I’m happy to give kudos to anyone with a paying job right now. (Don’t let the harassers online get ya down.)
What's the Hyperion render out of curiosity?
Hyperion renderer? That’s kind of an awesome name
Walt Disney Animation Studios dropped the teaser trailer for Hexed this morning and so far, I do like what I see. I especially do love the production design when the main character enters the world and some of the character designs are Sword in the Stone-esque. I'm curious!
Getting more Alice in Wonderland vibes with this trailer if anything. Probably because of that talking book in the Hexed trailer, who looks like he would belong in the 50s film as well.
The cartoon community is gonna go mentally insane over this trailer, looking at you Bulbasquirtle just like what the fandom menace did to the acolyte
Very open to see this movie when it comes out, I just hate having the perception or people seeing this as an Owl House knockoff, especially after the unfortunate cancellation by the company itself. Hopefully the film can stand out on its own.
The calarts style really does not fit here. When films like nimona, wildwood, and spiderverse all experiment with different styles, this comes off as so lazy that you would think it was ai generated. The fact that its not makes it look worse
I really love the trailer for Disney’s Hexed because it has potential! The main characters looks good and beautiful world building. I hope this original movie from Disney Animation does well since I’m supporting original works! 🤩👍
