Sean Penn to direct January 6 film, Bradley Cooper in talks to star
Warner Bros. says Sean Penn wrote and will direct an untitled film about a police officer who was present at the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, and Bradley Cooper is in talks to star as the lead. Penn scripted the drama to follow the officer's early life and later involvement in the assault on the Capitol, and the studio says the project was developed with the real-life subject whose identity has not been disclosed. The pairing of a high-profile director and major star at a top studio means this will be a prominent cinematic portrayal of the January 6 attack, bringing that story to mainstream movie audiences.
