Tadej Pogacar won Stage 3 of the 2026 Tour de France with a brutal finishing burst to take the stage into Les Angles and moved into the yellow jersey on countback. The 195.9km stage started in Granollers, crossed four categorised climbs and included almost 4,000 metres of climbing, with the final 44 kilometres in France run behind closed roads because of wildfires. Pogacar credited teammate Isaac del Toro for helping set him up for the decisive move. Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard sit level on overall time, but Pogacar leads on countback and now wears the maillot jaune. Tour director Christian Prudhomme said the decision to bar roadside spectators was taken with state authorities because of the exceptional fire conditions.
