Cal Raleigh crushed a first-pitch grand slam off Caleb Ferguson after the Cincinnati Reds intentionally walked Dominic Canzone to load the bases, giving the Seattle Mariners a 7-0 lead in the seventh inning. The homer was Raleigh's 10th of the season, traveled an estimated 408 feet with a 30 degree launch angle and 102.1 mph exit velocity. Seattle added one more run en route to an 8-0 victory, a result noted as moving the Mariners back into the AL West lead. Cincinnati has been criticized for the decision to face Raleigh with the bases loaded, a move Seattle Sports said the Reds are now regretting. The Reds taunted the baseball gods and lost. Bring in the lefty, yet intentionally walk lefty-hitting Dom Canzone to face the slumping Cal Raleigh with the bases loaded, and he immediately makes a sandwich. That's the thing that breaks a slump. Mariners need to send Cincinnati a thank you card.
