Tampa Bay defeated Toronto 4-2 in a close game at Rogers Centre, with Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk hitting a solo home run for Toronto. The contest included a bizarre defensive play in the bottom of the fifth when Rays infielder Taylor Walls overslid second base and, after putting his hand on Andrés Giménez's glove that contained the ball, tagged himself out to leave the score tied 1-1. The loss left the Blue Jays short in a low-scoring affair, and Toronto made roster moves ahead of the series finale, recalling Davis Schneider and Adam Macko, optioning outfielder Sean Keyes and placing pitcher Patrick Corbin on the 15-day injured list.

It's going to be a heartbreaker if he's dealt. I get it, this year's Jays have been too injured for too long & don't have the bats to pull themselves back up. BUT this era of Jays isn't over. They will continue to re-tool in the off-season, and Gausman probably has a couple yrs of quality ball left
