Arsenal have completed the £34m signing of Greece forward Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, the 24-year-old agreeing a five-year contract with the Premier League champions. Arsenal say Tzolis arrives as a replacement for Leandro Trossard after Trossard's move to Besiktas, and he is the club's third permanent signing of the summer following Piero Hincapié and goalkeeper Illan Meslier. Tzolis scored 43 goals in 108 appearances for Club Brugge and featured for Brugge in their 3-0 Champions League defeat to Mikel Arteta's side last season. Sporting director Andrea Berta described Tzolis as an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left, is comfortable across the front line, and is an excellent finisher with both feet. Tzolis previously played 14 Premier League games for Norwich in 2021-22 without scoring and had loan spells at FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining Club Brugge. The signing arrives as a boost for Arsenal after defender William Saliba was ruled out for an extensive period with a back problem and is set to miss the start of Arsenal's Premier League defence.
