Patrick Kane returns to Chicago Blackhawks, two-year deal

Patrick Kane signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks worth $16 million total, an $8 million average annual value, and the deal includes a full no-move clause. Kane, who turns 38 in November, returns to the team where he won three Stanley Cups from 2010 to 2015 and left at the 2023 trade deadline after 16 seasons. Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson said Kane captivated Chicago and knows what it takes to win at the highest levels. Kane is the last active NHLer among the seven players who won three Cups with the Blackhawks and ranks third in franchise games played with 1,161, third in goals with 446, second in assists with 779, and second in points with 1,225. He spent time chasing meaningful games in New York and Detroit before rejoining Chicago and has trained in Chicago during recent offseasons. Rookie Connor Bedard said he would be excited to play with Kane, framing the signing as a bridge between the franchise’s championship past and its present rebuild.

Patrick Kane (2x8m deal with Chicago) has (mostly) bounced back from the injury issues that had him seemingly knocked out of relevance; is extremely good at passing the puck to someone who will score. Weak defensively, a good finisher, doesn't create offence anymore.
