Leeds United in talks to sign James Trafford
🚨 Leeds United in talks with Manchester City to sign James Trafford. Newcastle United also interested & #NUFC made club-to-club contact but 23yo #MCFC goalkeeper leaning towards Elland Road + #LUFC now working to land England international 🚨 @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/735...
You're becoming as bad as Romano .
He would ba a super signing. 🤞🤞 #LUFC
Framing it as if he's picking Leeds over Newcastle when Newcastle haven't made a bid. Fucking freak.
He can go to Leeds. Trafford missed his opportunity to join Newcastle last season.
The devaluation of NUFC shows no sign of easing
I'm obviously biased living in the North East but I don't get the idea he'd rather be at Leeds than Newcastle. Despite a poor season last year they are the more established PL side and they clearly want him... 🤷♂️
I take it @joseybackupnorth.bsky.social is already positioned on a bridge over the M62. #lufc
Yes we were interested but did we actually put in a bid? The narrative is he rejected us but how close were we to actually signing him this window? If we were that fussed, we’ve had at least 2-3 years to get the deal done by now. Don’t let certain journalists rile you up into a frenzy #nufc
DO IT!! Brilliant young keeper. England's next number one. Huge potential resale value. Worth chucking the summer's budget at imo.
Quickly clarifying, no hijack here #nufc
Once we signed Jouen it didn't make sense we'd sign another younger keeper at a high price. Not that it's any of my business/concern, but there's other (not going to say bigger) clubs I thought would be in for Trafford. Chelsea and Spurs need keepers for example. #NUFC
This would be a good statement. #LUFC
Not to be the pessimistic one but...... Until he's in a #lufc shirt.....etc etc.
No doubt City will somehow get £50m for him.
He goes in to the pot with Ekitike of players who couldn’t think of anything worse than playing for NUFC after three attempts of signing him
This would be some business, if the club manages to get it over the line and he's sat signing his contract with the blonde lass. Now, which player/s is/are getting sold to soften the spending for Trafford..
🏴 BREAKING: New England Revolution are nearing a deal to sign English winger Jack Harrison from Leeds United, per sources. Harrison will join Revs as a DP. The 29-year-old made 219 apps for Leeds. Spent second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina www.nytimes.com/athletic/746...
LOVE this for #NERevs. Harrison brings an attacking skill that not many offer in #MLS and will raise the level for the Revs from the start. Great get!
Luca ? youhou Luca ? #cfmtl
To be quite honest, he’s looked quite cooked in Serie A, a league where Bernardeschi has had a resurgence and which Berna himself admits is of a similar level physically, if not lower, than MLS. I don’t think he’s going to work out greatly
In return I hear we're getting two bottles of diet soda and a family pack of sugarless gum from the Revs. Good bit of business. #lufc
Leeds United still on with Julian Brandt pursuit and hopeful he'll make a decision soon. The Ornstein line on Trafford leaning towards Leeds is big. Still got to get a deal done though. Outgoings: Jack Harrison to New England Revolution likely. Fee will be undisclosed. #lufc
Can't see a YEP journo saying Leeds are 'on with' a transfer target without thinking of this
Did I die in my sleep or something??
What's the feeling? Why am I making an upturned frown on my face? Is this what they call happiness?
Fee. Hahahaha. Unless it's us paying them. 😁
Phil 2.0, officially the better Phil
New England Revs fan here. Harrison getting any play with your club? Thoughts on him? The club needs done serious offside help considering they paid for a super expensive striker that has spent more time injured than on the pitch.
I think James Trafford will be a huge player for club and country, but, after sounding out some better minds covering French football, I’m not sure NUFC would have convinced Jaouen to join if he was going to play behind someone young who will demand to play every game. EJ well thought of in France.
I said this at the time of Jaouen signing. Makes no sense to block his pathway immediately especially when we want to become big players in the 18-21 with huge potential market. Agents and players alike will be looking at how the first to make the jump to us are developed.
Under the circumstances, do you reckon it’s worth taking a punt on Vlachodimos between the sticks this season? I don’t understand why we’re so certain he’d be a downgrade on Pope in his current form.
Think the time to have got Trafford was in 2024. Once he went to City, wages and the fee were always likely to be an obstacle. Do think we need a more experienced number 1 for this season, though. And not the post- shoulder injury Nick Pope...
Agree but so we really want another season of Pope's dodgy passing. It unsettles the whole back line, means we struggle when pressed, and just undermines confidence throughout the team.
Fascinating to see if/who we replace Pope with, based on the EJ investment. Far from simple.
📰 #LUFC wishes Max Wöber all the best for the future as the defender departs the club www.leedsunited.com/en/news/max-...
