Arsenal exploring move for Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior
🚨 EXCL: Arsenal exploring move to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid. #AFC interest early stage + clubs not yet in talks but idea approved at all levels. Much rests on contract process as no breakthrough yet & #RMFC do not want free exit @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/746...
so basically, everyone in charge at arsenal wants to sign him. that's it. that's the story. breaking news: everyone in charge at every club wants to sign him too.
Arsenal are preparing an offer for £20 million
Now we know why he got the plastic surgery. He’s ready to join Handsome FC.
Something tells me Mourinho is at Madrid for a few reasons... one of which is Vini Jr.
Intermediaries have indicated that Arsenal would be willing to pay around 65 million to secure his services. No club-to-club contact yet but more intermediary talks and posts expected for the next few weeks.
But he'd surely blow up Arsenal's wage structure?
how big is this? I got Clive to pod on a saturday
This is a weird one. If there’s even a half chance, go for it. But the framing is off. I’m exploring being wealthy, owning a mansion, and never working again. Everyone at all levels in my family approves of it. Same level of actual proceeds happening as this — nada, as of now.
Not gonna lie...this would piss me off.
Inject it into my veins!
Praying this happens and his ACL immediately explodes
Feels to me like a ‘buying high’ type move. The kind of moves that have gotten Manchester United into trouble for the past decade. Arsenal have always developed stars, or turned stars (Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp) into superstars. But hey. It ain’t my money.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal exploring deal to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid 🔺 Candidate to strengthen attack if no RM renewal 🔺 #AFC interest approved at all levels 🔺 12 months remaining on RM deal w/ @davidornstein0.bsky.social for @theathleticfc.bsky.social ⬇️ www.nytimes.com/athletic/746...
Yeah, that's one of the few players that can take champions to another level. Would validate alot of our decision making this summer
Not sure we'll be able to pull it off. But this is what I'm talking about. Type of superstar signing that takes the Arsenal brand to another level, make the league shit themselves and also finally gives us a real chance of winning UCL. 117m for Morgan Rogers would do fuck all for us.
Not sure about this. If we bring Vini in where will Reiss-Nelson play?
Great news for Tzolis 😵💫
Wonder if the fallout after the Madrid Benfica game last season has something to do with it...
Like I'd love to dream but I won't hold my breath on this one. Be crazy if it happened though 😳
🫨 Now that would be quite something if they can pull it off.
Apologies but I’m gonna need a few hours to research this guy, not very familiar
Honestly, this makes the quiet start to the summer add up. Okay, you tilt at windmills for a 1 in 10 chance of bringing in Vini. That’s worth it when you’re trying to win the Premier League and the Champions League. Worry about the backup plans once this one falls through
I am visiting from the future and I can tell you now that Arsenal do not sign him.
I have nothing intelligent to add to this apart from the fact that even by Brazilian footballer standards Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior is a spectacular full name. Get it done Berta.
Now that’s what I call a Bomba.
Trying to remain calm. Trying to remain calm.
You want Rogers? Fine. We'll raise you a Vini Jr in a league-winning side.
Now that’s what I call a Bomba.
Well well well… let’s see.
🚨🔴⚪️ Arsenal have agreed all details of personal terms with Bruno Guimarães and new official bid will follow. #AFC to offer £70m, Newcastle expect to reject but Arsenal feel they can still get it done. Arteta, pushing: he wants Bruno. 🎥
Don’t worry, Chelsea will come in with a bid of 100M on a 6-year contract.
Is any of this stuff legal, I doubt it!
Quit your pot stirring. Let the big boys with real jobs handle it
Has anyone asked the Newcastle fans if today is a suitable day for Arsenal to put in a bid for Guimarães?
If the bid doesn't start with a 9 (& Bruno doesn't kick off), he'll be going nowhere. #NUFC
I miss tapping up rules actually being applied. Bid low, keep bidding low, get Fab to post daily in the hope of driving a wedge between club and player and make the sale inevitable. Football's gone. #NUFC
IMHO, #NUFC have more leverage here than we did with Isak. We have 2 +1 years on a deal for Bruno, even if he strops his way into a new deal with us, lots time at this stage of his career kills any chance of a big move. Only way he goes to Arsenal is the money is cracking.
I'm old enough to remember when this wasn't allowed until permission was granted after a fee was agreed... 🤷♂️ #nufc
Fuck off. 'agreed personal terms and official bid to follow'. I remember when that was called tapping up and clubs were fined for it.
I get that this is a mirror account but the headline does exactly what it intends to. It keeps a potential transfer alive, tries to drive the price down, and, worst of all, engages us all in the process. I really can’t stand the Fraudrizio’s of this world.
If this is true, he’s as bad as Isak. Pretending he loves the club and the fans only to agree personal terms with another club before they’ve even put a bid in. Shocking behaviour. I thought he was different. #NUFC
I wish Cloughie was still alive. Jack too.
“Arsenal haven’t made a bid, and if they actually do decide to, they aren’t planning on matching the selling clubs asking price. But they still feel like they can get it done”. Ah ok sound. Good for them I suppose.
I am skeptical there's a way to make the contract demands work Vini currently makes ~£27m per season, Madrid offered a new contract at ~£32m, Vini requested ~£48m I guess he could massively lower his demands or Arsenal could break the bank, but www.nytimes.com/athletic/722...
If there's such a thing as a hometown discount, maybe there's also such a thing as a "higher probability your manager backs you when you suffer racial abuse" discount
If you’re going to smash your wage structure he’s probably one of 3 players on the planet you do it for
Yeah logically there's just no way he leaves for any club other than City or PSG. It seems impossible. I'm guessing he renews.
Strong agree. This is £100m plus as well as Haaland wages. But it also sort of makes sense for Madrid to sell and you assume Arsenal know what it’ll take in wages so….
My guess is he would take a number much lower than 48 from a club other than Madrid. Still a huge number but he’s only going to get it from a few clubs and we’re one of them.
