Lando Norris takes pole position at Hungarian Grand Prix

Lando Norris claimed pole position at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix with a final lap that beat Lewis Hamilton, who qualified second. Charles Leclerc took third while Ferrari rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli qualified fourth but was placed under investigation for a potential yellow flag infringement. The yellow flags were triggered by Max Verstappen spinning at the final corner late in qualifying, his third significant spin in four weekends. Verstappen’s spin also forced George Russell to slow; Russell stopped at turn one after finishing his lap and will line up immediately behind Oscar Piastri. Race control opened investigations into both Antonelli for the yellow-flag issue and into Oscar Piastri and Hamilton for a potential impeding incident. Isack Hadjar recovered from a Q2 spin to start eighth ahead of Arvid Lindblad and Nico Hülkenberg in the top 10. Aston Martin reached Q2 on merit for the first time this year, with Fernando Alonso finishing 16th.

This has to stop. Russell gets called a genius for knowing the rules so well. Antonelli does almost exactly the same thing and gets a penalty. Meanwhile both times there’s a guy stranded in a stationary car with them coming at him at nearly 200kph. Someone is going to get killed. “But I lifted”

It's absolutely ridiculous, Rob from both Lewis & Ferrari. Addressing Lewis, there is no way an experienced champion like him should not be paying attention to the clear blue flags in front of him. As for Ferrari, for Vasseur to say they told him too late points to a lack of sharpness on pit wall.
