WNBA All‑Star Game in Chicago, first All‑Star dunk in years

Chicago hosted the WNBA’s 30th anniversary All-Star Weekend, centering fan events at McCormick Place and public programming at the newly opened Obama Presidential Center. WNBA Live filled the convention hall Thursday through Saturday with more than 30 fan experiences, player appearances, skills challenges, a Legacy Park exhibit and a Nike customization station, where youths met players such as Kamilla Cardoso, Courtney Williams, Sydney Colson and Flau’jae Johnson. The league and the Chicago Sky announced a plan to paint 30 orange three-point lines on public courts nationwide this year, including 15 during the All-Star Weekend. Former President Barack Obama appeared at the Obama Presidential Center on Thursday as part of the public events; the center also hosted an All-Star practice and a Jr. WNBA clinic where A’ja Wilson worked with more than 150 girls and distributed signature shoes. WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert told reporters ahead of the game that she will remain as commissioner. Bam Adebayo attended the weekend to support his girlfriend A’ja Wilson, who made her eighth WNBA All-Star appearance.

I think the WNBA should just fully lean into the "relaxed" play of all-star. Extra points for dunks, a 4pt only shooter on the team, sub in the coach, have a penalty box I feel like a lil rock n jock-ness would be fun!
