Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey opened to strong audience praise for performances and its IMAX presentation after the premiere. The film cast Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy and Elliot Page as Sinon, choices that drew online criticism but earned positive notice for their work. The movie grossed €231 million on its opening weekend, Nolan’s highest ever, with Ireland logging the largest opening per capita and the film taking more than €1 million there. Some social-media critics predicted a critical and commercial flop and attacked historical and casting choices, but early box office and multiple viewers praised the film’s scale and emotional impact. Elon Musk announced that his AI platform Grok Imagine will produce a separate full-length, purportedly "historically accurate" version of The Odyssey. Viewers singled out performances such as Elliot Page’s Hades and Samantha Morton’s turn, and several reports recommended seeing the film in IMAX for the full experience.
