Filmmakers and fans marked Stanley Kubrick's birthday on July 26 with tributes, clips and deep-dive coverage. A recent piece recalled that The Beatles were once considered to star in a Stanley Kubrick adaptation of The Lord of the Rings during pre-Peter Jackson attempts to adapt the book.

It's really difficult to peg a favourite, but it's between the shining and 2001,both are amazing for different reasons but I think purely on camera photography and directing alone (the handy cam was invented for this film) it has to be the shining. 🦇
