Vladimir Guerrero Jr. left Tuesday night's game in Washington with right hamstring tightness as the Toronto Blue Jays fell 8-6 to the Washington Nationals. Toronto starter Shane Bieber issued six first-inning walks and was charged with four runs, putting the Blue Jays behind early in the game. Guerrero appeared to sustain the hamstring issue while running out a ground ball and did not return to the contest. Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Guerrero wanted to stay in but Schneider removed him as a precaution. The loss dropped Toronto to 49-61 and coincided with a reported playoff-odds decline to about 1.58 percent.
