Tour de France Femmes Stage 1, Lorena Wiebes wins yellow

Lorena Wiebes powered to victory on Stage 1 of the Tour de France Femmes, winning an uphill sprint to claim the first maillot jaune. Kim Le Court finished second and Demi Vollering third on the opening stage. The official top 10 also listed Puck Pieterse fourth, Noemi Rüegg fifth, Elisa Longo Borghini sixth, Kasia Niewiadoma seventh, Pauline Ferrand-Prevot eighth, Cédrine Kerbaol ninth and Marlen Reusser tenth. Alison Avoine finished outside the time limit, 26 minutes 52 seconds down, and Laura Tomasi did not finish. Wiebes will start Stage 2 wearing the yellow jersey.
