Para-cyclists Emma Foy and Jessie Hodges won their second gold of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games when the New Zealand tandem took the 1000m time trial final, lifting New Zealand's overall tally to 27 medals including eight golds. Neil Fachie claimed his second gold of the Games after surviving a painful crash in an afternoon of dramatic racing in Glasgow. Wales' Emma Finucane won the women's 1000m time trial with Olympic champion Ellese Andrews of New Zealand taking bronze. Ally Wollaston finished fourth in the points race, with teammates Bryony Botha and Emily Shearman ninth and eighth respectively. Malta recorded its first Commonwealth Games medal when judoka Katryna Esposito secured a podium spot. Tuvalu also reached the medals table for the first time as boxer Tarona Taafaki received a bye into the 75kg semi-finals and, despite losing the semi-final, was awarded a bronze.
