Avengers: Doomsday, new trailer debuts at D23

Marvel Studios debuted the second Avengers: Doomsday trailer on Friday at Disney's D23 fan convention, a two-minute clip introduced onstage by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell. The trailer further teases the massive MCU team-up arriving in theaters Dec. 18 and stages action beats pitting Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom against Mister Fantastic, the X-Men and the Avengers. The sequence also shows an army of Sentinels and includes Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm/Invisible Woman. Marvel positioned the new footage as a more action-heavy follow-up to earlier footage, highlighting broader crossover stakes for the franchise.

Filming in the exact same barren muddy field as the last Avengers movie, the umpteenth “the bad guy thwarts Thor‘s hammer” shot, the PS2-looking Sentinels, the FF being shocked that the guy named Von Doom is up to no good, and adding Obi-Wan Kenobi all make this look pretty dire.

Sincerely love that the plot for Avengers: Doomsday is that the Avengers f’d around with time and are about to find out. So many movies mess around with mentioning various kinds of repercussions from manipulating time, but rarely anything happens. And here the repercussions are Dr. Doom
