CLEVELAND, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a three-run homer and drove in a season-high five runs as the Toronto Blue Jays routed the Cleveland Guardians 11-0 on Wednesday night. Dylan Cease (10-5) scattered four hits over six innings, struck out four without a walk and did not allow a runner past second base in a game that evened the series. Guerrero’s homer came in the second off Joey Cantillo (9-8), capping a five-run inning that made it 6-0; Guerrero finished 3 for 4 and has hit all eight of his home runs on the road this season. Rookie Brett Bateman scored three times, and Josh Smith added a solo homer in the eighth off Carlos Hernández as Toronto recorded its second-largest victory margin of the season. Cantillo allowed a career-high nine runs in 5 1/3 innings, five of them unearned after a shortstop error by Angel Genao. Cease’s 19-start streak with at least seven strikeouts ended, one shy of the single-season mark set by Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson, and relievers Paul Sewald, Brendon Little and Braydon Fisher completed the six-hitter. The Guardians remain in the third American League wild-card spot, but their lead over Toronto, Baltimore and Texas was cut to 1 1/2 games; the Blue Jays are 21-13 since July 27 and will send José Soriano to the mound Thursday against Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee.
