Kansas City Current parts ways with Vlatko Andonovski

BREAKING: Vlatko Andonovski and the Kansas City Current have mutually parted ways. Per club release: "Both parties determined that Andonovski’s requested transition from coaching into the Sporting Director role at the end of last season was not the right fit." #NWSL

The press release that says the transition from coaching to SD wasn't the correct fit, also mentions absolutely nothing about his incredible tenure where they lost less than 10 games in two seasons and won literally every trophy in front of them except the NWSL title. #KCBaby

13 months ago the KC Current were rolling into Houston at the peak of women’s soccer. Arguably the number 1 team globally by any metric except titles. Then Temwa got injured, the title didn’t come, & the repercussions have been so overwhelmingly dramatic that it’s left a negative pall in its wake.

❌ KC Current and Sporting Director Vlatko Andonovski have mutually parted ways. Vlatko previously served as head coach, leading the club to the 2025 NWSL Shield. The club said both parties determined the transition to sporting director “was not the right fit.”

This is incredibly disappointing. It's hard to not see this as some greater, internal problem. Greatest season in NWSL history, then he's "promoted" and less than a year later he's gone. #KCBaby

The Stars already have two former KC Current staffers working on an interim basis in Kate Cohen and Garga Caserta. I think the Stars need to be moving heaven and earth right now to get the band back together.
