The Chicago White Sox completed a sweep of the Houston Astros with a 7-3 win that eliminated Houston from the postseason and gave Chicago its first playoff series victory since 2005. The White Sox built a big first inning and Chase Meidroth hit a three-run homer that powered the offense. Houston starter Hunter Brown lasted 0.2 innings, allowing four runs as everything unraveled for the Astros in the game. Erick Fedde was handed the ball to close the game and celebrated finishing the victory for the team. Owner Jerry Reinsdorf joked he might convert to Catholicism after the series win and received a letter from the Pope. With the sweep the White Sox advance to the American League Division Series and their next games will air on TBS and truTV rather than Peacock.
